Just four days after surprising fans at Drake and Future’s Summer Sixteen Tour in Chicago, Kanye West did the same at OVO Fest in Toronto tonight.
Rumors of Kanye’s appearance at the annual festival began after he was spotted in Toronto and was then confirmed when French Montana and Virgil Abloh posted photos to their Instagram pages.
Shortly after Kanye rose from underneath the stage for “Pop Style” causing the crowd in Toronto to go crazy.
Easy and Drake finished the song and before Kanye performed “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” he asked the crowd if they would want a joint album from the two artists. This isn’t the first time Kanye has mentioned an album with Drake, during an interview with The Breakfast Club he said “Wolves” was supposed to be a project the pair planned to work on.
“Famous” and “Runaway” finished off Kanye’s set at OVO Fest, but not before he complimented Drake saying, “Your city has produced something that’s made history.”
Drake also praised Kanye during the set stating, “This is man is one of the reasons I’m on this stage. One of my inspirations.”
The duo began instantly trending worldwide on Twitter as fans caught wind of the performance and possible collaborative album.
OVO Fest 2016 marked Kanye’s third performance with the first two coming in 2013 and 2015. See photos from Kanye’s unexpected appearance at OVO Fest this year below!
